According to the rescuers, at just 6 months old, she weighed 14 pounds and her body condition was in a terrible state. To address her situation, she was brought to an emergency veterinary hospital where they found that she didn’t have parvo. However, her blood test results indicated that she was dehydrated with a high count of white blood cells.
It’s quite surprising that Bessie demonstrated signs of recovery despite the traumatic experience she had gone through. After spending a night at the hospital under close care, pictures taken of her showed her being attentive and seemed to be optimistic about her future.
